My compact dishwasher arrived today - verdict on the product itself is so-far-so-good! I am uber-excited to add this appliance to my kitchen (haven't washed anything for 3 days, in anticipation of it arriving!)
However, this was not a totally stress-free experience, and so I feel the need to put something useful online for other unsuspecting buyers like myself.
What do you need to know about this product? You need to know that it comes with a practially useless 'manual', which neglects to mention what steps you actually have to complete to get the dishwasher going (grrr!). Also, there is no help available online, and the helpline is practically useless because they are referencing exactly the same material as you are. I was told to poke and prod and remove pieces that I clearly was not supposed to tamper with - luckily, from the hesitation in the operator's voice, I was able to deduce that it wasn't worth invalidating the warranty for!
Anyway, you're supposed to be able to connect this either directly to your water pipe or just to your tap. However, no adaptor was included to be able to attach to the tap, therefore you will need this (unless your tap is 3/4" and threaded so that the water inlet hose can just screw onto it).
Despite going to the DIY store and buying an adaptor, I ended up connecting to the water pipe, because the adaptor didn't feel stable. The waste hose is just pointing into my sink - I've had quite enough DIY for one day!
Don't forget to turn your water supply off first before removing/attaching anything.
I had to connect mine to the cold water supply (even though manual says hot water is better - unfortunately, my hot water pressure wasn't high enough, and the dishwasher wouldn't start the cycle properly - kept givig me error code 'E1'. All sorted now though! I guess it is quite noisy - but certainly no noisier than the washing machine, so thats fine by me so long as I don't have to get my hands wet anymore!
