I bought this TV based on the features for the price. On the whole, I'm happy. The picture quality on freeview and the built-in DVD player is really good. I have tried plugging in my laptop via hdmi, but the picture wasn't that great (and stretched beyond the screen), although I haven't tried the laptop in any other TV, so it might be a problem with the laptop. I've experienced mixed results with the USB record. Two hard disks that I have aren't recognised. Plugging in a SDHC card via a USB reader worked fine, and also a Freecom Mobile Drive Classic 2.5" 320GB drive (that I borrowed from work to try) worked too. Very frustrating that only certain hard drives work. Note that if you're recording, you can't change channels, or watch a DVD. But you can pause the TV if you have a working USB device plugged in. So, providing you've got a compatible USB drive, it's great value for money - sure you'll get better results going for branded stuff, but I've got better things to spend my money on.

Bought Evotel ELCD26DUSBHD for my sons bedroom, initial setup was very easy. Reaso I chose Evotel was usb record facillity. I asked currys tech support to recommend a drive to record programs. Spent over £100 on 500gb desktop and 320gb portable usb drives, and neither works with this tv. Currys do not accept returns once the box has been opened unless the item is faulty. A very expensive mistake, try to test compatabillity before buying.
